Medical exam for inland navigation
In accordance with Art. 82 of the Ordinance on Shipping on Swiss Waters (Inland Shipping Ordinance, BSV) of November 8, 1978 (as of February 12, 2019), holders of category B and C licenses and all applicants for categories A-E have 65 years, a medical certificate mandatory.
The holders of a category B or C driving license have to be checked by a medical examiner every five years up to the age of 50, every three years from the age of 51 to the age of 70 and every two years from the age of 71 (doctor of recognition level 2) to be examined.
Applicants and holders of card categories B and C must meet the minimum medical requirements for group 2 Annex 1 of the Traffic Licensing Ordinance of October 27, 1976.
With us, as a recognized traffic medical examination center for levels 1 to 4, you can have the medical aptitude test carried out quickly and easily.
The examination lasts approximately 45 minutes and includes the following elements:
- Collection of medical history
- Physical examination
- urine status
- eye exam
Please bring the following documents with you to the examination appointment:
- Appeal of the road traffic or shipping office
- Identity card or identity card
- Completed and signed medical questionnaire - StVA/MFK (Bring signed original - do not send by e-mail
- Glasses passport or last glasses prescription (if you have to wear corrective lenses)
Please remember that you will have to give us a urine sample and should therefore not go to the toilet just before the appointment.
